9th Workshop on the Economics of Organised Crime

June 19 - June 20

University of Edinburgh School of Economics and University of Stirling Management School co-organise the 9th Workshop on the Economics of Organised Crime. 

The keynote speakers are Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Houston (Police Scotland) and Professor Olivier Marie (Erasmus School of Economics).

The workshop will serve as a forum to present current research investigating the origins, impact, and functioning of organised crime. It will be an opportunity to bring together young and senior economists to present their ongoing research. Previous editions were held in Turin, Pavia, Naples, Milan, Bogota, Bergamo, Glasgow, and York.

The workshop is financially supported by the Scottish Economic Society.

Submission
Both theoretical and empirical studies are welcome. Papers in related fields are also welcome.

Please submit complete papers in PDF format by 15 April 2025 to WEOC2025@gmail.com

Submitting authors will be notified of the acceptance of the paper soon after the submission deadline. Limited funds are available to help cover the accommodation cost. Unfortunately, travel costs cannot be covered.
