Over 140 Pupils from 12 Schools Discover the Exciting World of Economics<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University of Stirling\u2019s Economics Division recently hosted an engaging and educational event for high school pupils, welcoming over 140 students from 12 schools across Scotland. Held on 4th March 2025, the event aimed to introduce pupils to the fascinating world of economics, helping them understand what economics is, how it shapes the world around us, and why it\u2019s such a dynamic and impactful field of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day was packed with interactive sessions led by academics from the Economics Division, who shared their expertise and passion for the subject. Pupils explored various economic concepts,  including current economic affairs in the news, traditional theories, and how psychology plays a part in economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of the event was a hands-on workshop where pupils worked in teams to tackle real-world economic problems. Through these activities, they gained a deeper understanding of how economists think and the tools they use to analyse and solve complex issues. The workshop encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity, leaving pupils with a newfound appreciation for the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also featured a lively Q&A session, where pupils had the opportunity to ask questions about studying economics at university. Staff and student ambassadors shared their experiences, offering insights into the diverse and rewarding nature of the subject and what it\u2019s like to be an economics student at Stirling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Economics Division would like to extend a big thank you to all the pupils, teachers, and staff who made this event such a success. Special thanks also go to the schools for their participation and enthusiasm. We hope the day sparked curiosity and excitement about economics, and we look forward to welcoming some of these bright minds to Stirling in the future!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
